Mr. Rundle is a member of the Technical Committee for the upcoming Conference "Frontiers of Prognostics &
Health Management (PHM - 2010 Macau)"
to be held 12 - 14 January 2010 at the University of Macau, P.R.
China.  Prognostics is the process of predicting the future "effective reliability" of a product by assessing the
extent of deviation or degradation of a product from its expected normal operating conditions.  Health
monitoring is the process of measuring and recording the extent of deviation and degradation from a normal
operating condition.  Sponsored by the IEEE, PHM-2010 Macau is the second conference of its kind to promote
the realization and application of PHM as a key enabler for growth for a broad range of electronic industries in
the Asia Pacific region.  The Conference will bring together experts and leaders from industries, government
organizations, and leading research centers who will share their aspirations for the application of PHM in their

Mr. Rundle is a member of the International Advisory Board for the City University of Hong Kong's Consortium
for Health Care Applications and Public Policy.  The Consortium works with medical device companies to help
them improve their design for reliability and qualification processes for their products.  The Consortium also
works with governmental agencies as they seek to improve their process of evaluating and regulating medical
devices.  To this end, the Consortium conducts legal-medical research,evaluation and assessments related to
governmental regulation, medical devices and related legislation.  See,
